Paz and AD, was watching your video again and what makes yours fun to watch is the fact that it's mounted in a good angle and you also hand hold it for a variety of shots, plus the underwater stuff is great. Some videos I've seen have camera only mounted on the head so it can be a little dizzying to watch. Great job on all you videos, hope to see more.

Is the "watch in high quality" video a good representation of the definition of the camera or is it still compressed?  Just trying to get a feel for the true quality of the Flip.  Either way the HQ vid is worlds above the standard youtube definition.

the high quality version is better but it's still very compressed compared to the original quality.  the Flip is records in 640x480 VGA which is TV quality and as long as your shooting in daylight, the artifacts on the screen when hooked up to a tv is pretty minimal.  I've attached the camera to high def monitors here at the tv station I work at and I'm still pretty impressed at the picture that comes out.  YouTube does not do it any justice.

640x480 is pretty big.  And 2.8Mbps (from the flip website) seems like a pretty high bitrate.  I'm fairly sure most of the bitrates I've have been a lot lower and half of the resolution as well.  I don't even have a kayak and I'm beginning to want to buy this.  How to pawn this off as a family toy...

Even when the fishing is not going our way, we still have a great time on the water.  Here's the latest video:

It felt really fast, but when I glanced down at the GPS, it showed us going around 3.4mph...then again, that was near the beginning of the sleigh ride... :D  ;D

Paz, AD, bet you could start a really great YouTube Channel, move into equipment reviews, rigging, etc., get some sponsors (free gear), who knows... As big as YT is, it's sorely missing quality videos, as you already know. You're already plugging gear (Flip Video), with a couple of letters to these companies things could open up for you guys. I know that the videos are secondary to the fishing, but hey, why not get something back. Just a thought.

That's a pretty good idea.  The quality of the videos is high above the standard video posted on YouTube.  The video editting especially is much more to my liking than probably 99% of the posted videos.  I really like hearing the sounds of the fight rather than obnoxiously loud music covering up the reel singing.  If you can get free swag doing exactly what your already doing just for fun, why not give it a try?  Best of luck if you choose to pursue that direction.

Ok guys, Paz has been super busy with work and has a broken Mac, so I'm temporarily *trying* to take up the slack with Windows Movie Maker.   8)  As much as I love PC's, Movie Maker can only do so much... :-[ ;) :D

Here's some footage of, "The Deep Water Huli".  Hope you like it!   ;D

That must have been a long minute post-huli.  Good job getting back in and keeping the fish on.
