Didn't bring the gopro for the onos. Yoko got his sails on vid, but he let me post my sail vid first. Finally got it up.

Quick report
cnr Munu
9lb 15oz kawa   :'(

Slow day with 15 minutes of action. First something big rams my kayak from below and breaks a fin on my drive. Then got 3 strikes in a row. Kawa, missed ono, and an unknown. Coulda been a solid day if everything stuck. More heartbreak as the kawa wavered between 9lbs 14-15oz. Still I am stoked as kawa is my favorite yak fish to eat.

Munu cnr = 8
9lb kawa = 10

Day 23 total 18

Current total 18 +851 = 869

You too right 9th.  Trying to be quick like you and our other bros.  With great intentions, I quickly kageed my last ono and started to hoist him in (with my lead hook solidly set in the corner of his mouth).   But my stinger hook sunk deep into a tie-off on the side of my kayak.  So I was stopped with his head almost in the kayak, rest of fish dangling in the water.  Pulled my knife from it's sheath...could not cut my steel stinger leader....so get my cutters out... snip the stinger off ... then finished dragging him in.  Fortunate tax staff all following Makahiki leader board guys.

Better to have that stinger sink into a tie than a thigh  :o

Not worth it for me. Bait was good, but didnt get any strikes today. Mirage drive broke but luckily I was close to shore and wind wasnt full blast yet. Got drive repaired at pnp and claiming tomorrow again for my final day.

Day 24
Cnr moana 8
Cnr opelu 2

Day 25 Report

Pretty uneventful last day. Caught a ton of bait and took a strike or two. Got 2 goats. Unfortunately that was it. The wind was too crazy this weekend to fish better grounds, but still glad I got to get on the water.

Want to thank everyone for a great tournament. Was good to watch and chat with everyone. I ended up doing way better than I ever thought, especially because I was so green to the sport. I think being part of the Makahiki was a lot more grueling than I thought it was going to be. However, it did push me to stay out longer and try a lot harder than if I was just leisure fishing. I probably caught the most goat fish out of everyone, but I got lucky a few days. Stoked to have met my own personal goals of 1) Fishing all my days and 2) Breaking 700. Look forward to future forum conversations with everyone.

2 CNR weke ula -8+8 = 16
879 + 16 = 895 points.

Llobes called me out last week and told me he is going to beat me this tournament. I'll be waiting for ahi #2
