« on: February 10, 2015, 09:25:01 PM »
Kyle Yokoyama
Kauai, HI
Makahiki #1
Hobie Revo 13

Aloha all, started yak fishing for inshore game in 2009 after stumbling across the Aquahunters forum and have been a lifelong lurker since (until now).  Looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings the AH ohana.

Claimed day 2 on Sunday via text to Rocket. Unbelievably slow day, should've stayed home. Settled for CNR bottom fish on the paddle in (having trouble posting the pic,  will keep trying).

CNR Papio 7
CNR Uku 7

Text claim day 4 to Rocket yesterday.  Made bait early, got a decent sized Kahala taxed right away.  Take another strike, get shibi to yak, see that its tail wrapped, rush to kage, shibi kicks....cut leader....F bomb.  Forecast called for light trades, 20knt winds by 11a.m. IS NOT light trades LIE HAGI.  Most of the rest of the  day was then spent sleeping under the palm trees.  Was able to salvage some points.

Ulua 17lb - 15
Weke CNR - 8

Day 4 total - 23

Added in a pic of the mofo that made me want to palu.

Claimed Day 8 yesterday, 5/3/15 to Rocket.

Took a strike first thing out which turned out to be a CNR Kaku.  Take another MONSTER strike a while later and see what looks to be a 200+lb Marlin launching 50 yards away from me.  Fought the Marline for 1.5 hours where it took me ~4 miles out.  Was able to eventually boost it to the yak twice before it made a beeline back down to 300ft both times.  Third time boosting it up it ends up getting taxed by a few Tigers near the yak.  Exhausted, I start to paddle in and 3 mins later a 9ft. Tiger decides to take my other bait back out to the deep.  After dealing with the Tiger and as I get back closer to the zone I take another strike and see a big Mako launching out of the water.  Seems like its been either boom or bust lately with yesterday almost being a day to remember; instead, it turned out to be just another fishing tale.

CNR Kaku 35# (confirmed with Ike) - 22
CNR Moano - 8

Day 8 total - 30
