I appreciate the good luck wishes but zero today.  Several of us were out but neither the opelu or game fish were very active.
Will try again later this week.
Day 16 Zero.  Total through and including Day 16:  160.

Day 17 results.  Nothing exciting here but please confirm or correct my fish IDs and points.
1 Kawelea
1 Moano, CNR
1 Kaku or kawelea, CNR

Day 17 = Moano CNR 6 + 2, Kaku/Kawelea CNR 5 + 2, = 15
Previous Total 160
Total through and including day 17 = 175

Day 18:  Opelu bite so so.  A few predators around, managed one good hook set.  Small (6 3/4#) mahi.  Superb morning to be on the water; see photo.

Previous total 175 + 10 = 185 total through and including day 18.

Planning to take day 19 tomorrow, Monday, July 20th.  Might try North Shore again, Lyle has caught everything on the other side of the Island.  Probably be a short day on the water if the trades show up early.

Day 19 was good.  Solid ono hook up raised my adrenalin; but sharp teeth on my fluorocarbon leader reduced it quickly.  Warm weather is having an impact; Ono hit my frozen opelu before I could catch live bait.
Did not go home without supper; one 6# Palani.
Previous total 185 + 0 for day 19 = 185 total through and including day 19.

Claiming day 20 tomorrow.

A number of us out today with the good conditions.  No one caught big but the group made for a fun outing.  Photo credit to my lovely wife for making my small fish look larger.
Day 20:  12# Kamanu, 13# Ulua
Previous total 185 + Day-twenty 35 = 220 through and including day 20.

Thank you.  Is the Kamanu the same fish as the Yellowtail caught out of San Diego and Mexico?

No sir...

Two different species in the same sub class...

Rainbow runner is a warm water fish...Pelagic

Yellowtail are cold water guys.

9th:  Thank you.  Makes sense.  The water temps out of San Diego are well below ours.
