Sorry for the late response, super busy at work. I would have posted sooner if it turned out to be a productive day, I can assure you.
Anyways, we launched at 4am to try to get some bait. Got about 5 pieces of bait but nothing spectacular. On the last drop, I felt the bait tugging so I began to reel up, then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Bait pole starts screaming! After about a few minutes a fighting this thing (I knew it wasn't bait) there was no resistance being put on by the fish, so I reeled it on up. At the end of the rig there was a ~8lb kahala bit in half from the gills back. I JUST GOT TAXED! Hahaha that woulda been 5pts I believe. It was fun while it lasted doubling up on a 8~ kahala.
We trolled around for roughly 6 hrs with no bites, then the winds came.. It was history from there, better luck next time.
1st of 40 with not a thing to show for it...

They don't call us DaRookz fo nottin! HAHA

Got an early start just before sunrise and wind was already blowing pretty nuts. Lots of bait out today but was a little finicky still managed to get a couple pieces. Caught KawaKawa within minutes of throwing bait out and a CnR Kahala shortly after which ate my last piece of bait. Winds picked up to about 20-25 mph decided to call it a day. Short sesh today not that successful, at least I got dinner. Will have official weight soon when I get a hold of a scale later today. Guessing just under 10 for the kawa and about 5 for the CnR kahala.

My favorite sash! I dunno if going help you but I usually bring a tape measure with me to measure CNR Jacks and use the DLNR tagging report to estimate weight. Kinda humbug for do em but makes estimating weight easier for me in the end.
