Craziest/scariest story on the water?

First time we paddled out to F buoy some idiot on a fifteen foot whaler was trolling around and nearly hooked my friend Gilbert. The guy wasn't paying attention and made a super tight turn and cut him off. His lines started going right over Gilberts head. Giant marlin plugs with 14/0 hooks were jumping up over his kayak right in front of Gilberts face. One of the lures snagged one of Gillies poles and yanked it out of his hands. It was leashed off, but now Gilbert was getting dragged backwards. The guy was so dumb he didn't even realize he had hooked a kayaker til everyone started yelling at him. He got snapped off and left but later that same day capsized his boat trying to land a small marlin and had to be rescued himself. This is the kind of person who makes it dangerous for everyone else and should stay on land. My friend coulda died that day.

How did you get into this sport?

I saw some pics on the internet and it looked cool so i got Andy pumped to try too and we gave it a shot. I fished all my life and had yaks all my life, just didn't combine the 2 until last year.

Favorite fishing saying?

Fishing isn't a matter of life and death... it's much more important!
What would you tell someone who is thinking of getting into kayak fishing?

What do you want to be remembered for in this sport?

I don't really worry or think about that kinda stuff. I'm stoked if people think what I do is cool but I fish not too impress others but for deeper personal satisfaction and to foster my relationship with Akua. The ocean is my church.
